Saying that to prove to them that they have false ideas about her she would appear on stage but that if, after the first act, she does not feel that her powers are at their peak, she will not finish the opera, that she is sorry they have written such foolish things about her, adding "n'oubliez surtout pas votre com[mi]ssaire de police." A note in pencil in another hand on the first page reads "1880 / Don Juan Opéra."
